Backpacker Buddhist Monks

While traveling throughout Mongolia, I came across two Buddhist monks on a Pilgrimage from a village towards the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.

When I stopped they sat and decided to have a rest. I gave them some water and asked if I could photograph them.

During this very rare event that seems to last some weeks/months, they sleep in tents and receive food and water donations from fellow inhabitants. No meat.

Once done with their pilgrimage, the backpacking monks would be able to raise in their ranks.
